Studio
J Sinclair Studio is the independent web, UX and brand design practice of Joshua Sinclair.
A decade of strategic creative work for growth-stage companies: Virgin StartUp, fintech market entries, and multi-year retained partnerships with agencies, marketing teams and businesses across music, fintech and sustainability.
I started out in sales and business development, selling commercial music systems to the hospitality and retail industry. Then, alongside starting this studio, I co-founded and ran an independent record label for ten years - its brand, campaigns, events and online store. So I read a checkout and a conversion rate the way a business operator does, not just as a designer.
I work direct with founders, startups and marketing leads, and white-label with agencies who need senior web, UX and brand capacity. UK-based, working globally.

APPROACH
I work across a four-stage process, built as one system. Each layer informs the next.
I value direct, regular communication through every project. I blend my expertise with AI and a stack of modern tools to speed up the research, production and iteration: pulling your analytics, testing how AI assistants describe you, drafting variants and checking work against your brand rules. The decisions, the direction and the storytelling are always mine.
01
Research
The why: Informed decisions start with what is discoverable across the digital experience. Behavioural data, funnel analysis, competitive research, customer language, and visibility in search and AI answers. Every decision traces back to observations here.
02
Direction
The how: Evidence becomes a position. What the business stands for, who it is for, what makes it different, and what is currently standing in the way of scaling it. These are the decisions everything else gets built on.
03
Build
The what: Strategy becomes visible. Identity, and a site engineered around how customers decide. Go-to-market assets ready at launch: digital, print, social, point of sale. Measurement wired in before it goes live, so the data starts on day one.
04
Growth
The cycle repeats: I read what live visitors are doing and turn it into prioritised improvements, shipped monthly, with reporting tied to your numbers. The brand, the site, the visibility and the path to a sale all get sharper as the business scales.
